This section requires the organization to plan and implement
monitoring, measurement, analysis and improvement processes. The key
words from this section are plan and implement. However,
no procedure or records are required.
Guidance:
ISO 9001:2000, section 8.1 is essentially a broad, sweeping series of
general requirements that will be repeated later with more detail.
Because no procedure or records are required, this section can easily be
ignored.
I suggest paraphrasing the wording of the standard in your Quality Manual AND be prepared to provide appropriate "lip service" to your ISO 9000 auditor.
