ISO 9001:2000

5.6 Management Review
Change: ADDITIONAL Requirements
Procedure Required: NO
Record(s) Required: Management Review (ref. section 5.6.1)
5.6.1 General
Comments:
This section is simply a general statement leading to actual requirements
contained in section 5.6.3 - Review Output.
Guidance:
I suggest simply paraphrasing the wording of the standard in your Quality
Manual.
5.6.2 Review Input
Comments:
This section specifies the input criteria for management review. However,
no record is required to reflect this that this ever happens!
Guidance:
I suggest paraphrasing the wording of the standard in your Quality Manual
AND addressing this criteria in your management review meeting minutes (ref.
section 5.6.3). Even though no record is required providing objective evidence
that the input criteria was actually presented to management, most ISO 9000
auditors want to see (or at the very least are happier to see) evidence that
this did in fact occur.
CAUTION - Phantom Requirement:
While
ISO 9001:2000, sec. 5.6.2 does not require a record of the
management review input, the vast majority of ISO 9000 auditors require
that the record of management review output include evidence that the
manaegment review input requirements were covered. I suggest
interpretting this section as being included in the management review
record.
5.6.3 Review Output
Comments:
This section specifies the output criteria for management review. A record is required to reflect this that this happens.
